This Day in History
On this day in 1944, General Douglas MacArthur lands in the shore of
Leyte in the Philippines, 2 years after he was forced to flee the
country during Japan's invasion - fulfilling the promise he made in
1942. A commemorative monument has been built in the municipality of
Palo, Leyte recreating this moment in history.
