Side Project

I love charts. I think I've mentioned that before. Charts are amazing.
So what's this chart all about? The condensed multiverse times, that's what.

Side Project

I had bought some display cabinets for my models earlier this year.
They're the kind with the sliding glass panels and I thought putting locks on the glass panels would ruin the overall look, so I'll leave them as is.
With that in mind though, I thought I should put up a sign as a precaution.
I couldn't quite find anything that would get the message across, so I decided to design my own.

[Custom RG 1/144] GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam

This was a deceptively tricky build. Some parts that needed modding were made from ABS, so the cement I normally use didn't quite work well. Later, I realized a lot more had to be moved around than just the wings and it took so much longer than I had first anticipated.
Still, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I think it's a good way to end the year. Cheers!

Some shots with my Ootori Rouge build.

and with this, my 1/144 Kira Yamato collection is complete!

G Project 2016

I love charts! They're a fun way to visualize complex ideas.
I wanted to see what my build schedule this year looked like, so I made a Gannt chart.

Backlog Assessment

The year is almost over, so I thought I'd take a peek at my backlog pile. Since Strike will be my final WIP for this year, and everything in my immediate wishlist gets released next month, it's safe to assume the pile won't change for the remainder of the year.

To my surprise, it's much smaller than than last year; less than half, in fact. I guess this means that I've exercised a greater degree of self control over the course of the year... ...or developed a much bigger appetite for building.

Custom RG 1/144 WIP- GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam: part 07-08

Slow progress again. Everything seems to fit together though, which is nice.

It seems the combined backpack is a tad too heavy and tends to lean back a bit. I'll have to do something about that.

Custom RG 1/144 WIP- GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam: part 06

After months of being shelved, I decided it's high time I picked up this project again. I'm a pretty meticulous sort of guy when it comes to decals, so progress was a bit slower than my usual pace because I was peeking at my Rouge every now and then to check if the decal layout is exactly the same for both.

[Custom HG 1/144] GF13-017NJII God Gundam (明鏡止水ver.)

俺のこの手が真っ赤に燃える! 勝利を掴めと轟き叫ぶ!!
爆熱! ゴッドフィンガー!!

Custom HG 1/144 WIP- GF13-017NJII God Gundam (明鏡止水ver.): part 02

I finally got around to buying clear paint.

Sometimes, being a pack rat can have its advantages. I found some trash in the form of clear plastic that I didn't toss thinking I might have a use for it some day. THIS IS THAT DAY!!

I used some more of the trash ans some clear runners to make an adaptor. This will attach the halo to the back of the Core Lander.

Finally, time to paint. I totally derped when cleaning my airbrush from last time, and it seems there was a little Gold Leaf left in there. It turned out to be a good thing though. There are some sparkles all over and i think that makes it look better than plain red and yellow.

Custom HG 1/144 WIP- GF13-017NJII God Gundam (明鏡止水ver.): part 01

My very first FC build and my first time extensively painting joints.
The build started pretty slow since I had to only partially build the parts according to the colors I'll be painting them in.

Gold was one obvious choice, but I decided to throw in some color separation with a sort of rose gold to give the allusion of heat.

Things got much less confusing as more and more parts are put together.

I wanted the inner frame to look brighter, so I mixed in a bit more orange for that.

I left the God Finger as is though. I've got some plans for that with the blacklight in the future.

I don't really want to call it finished yet, since I want to make a burning halo effect part.
I'll get to it sometime next week, maybe.
