[EX 1/1700] FFMH-Y101 Eternal

Between the fancy feathers and being pink all over, the folks at ZAFT were practically begging Lacus to steal it, don't you think?

I'd gotten so high about finishing the main model that I completely forgot that
I hadn't painted the stand yet!
At this point, I felt a little too lazy to fire up the compressor, so I thought I'd substitute something better instead.
This is a HG SEED stand with the peg modified to fit the Eternal.
A simple mod, but it gets the job done.

Despite the already small 1/144 Ootori Rouge, the 1/1700 Eternal is still too small to recreate that scene from SEED Destiny.

It seems like the EX Model kits are hard to come by these days
so I was pretty stoked to finally get my hands on one of these guys.

Despite being a fairly old kit, I'm pretty impressed by the engineering that went into this.
Bandai was fairly conscientious about placing the gates where they won't be seen,
so there's little to worry about in terms of nubmarks.
This is a very fun kit to work with overall and I highly recommend it for a mental health build.

I guess the only problem I ran into would be painting. I'm really bad at painting.
Though I'm reasonably satisfied with how the catapult deck turned out, the METEORs
definitely could've gone better. These things are tiny!

My first EX Model will definitely not be my last.

Since it didn't seem like Bandai was gonna make an official kit anytime soon,
I thought I'd go ahead and make my own.
Observant fans will notice the mount for the knives and v-fins are based on the Second Revise instead.
Well, that's because I plan on converting this to the Second Revise...once I figure out how to build a TAII.

I totally didn't expect to go through with this build since I had pretty much decided to do a
Red Frame Kai build. I had stumbled across all the mats though, so I though I might as well.

This had been in the planning stages for quite some time, and wouldn't you know it... Bandai announces a RD less than a week after I had procured all the mats. I thought I might as well go through with it anyway, so here it is.

Surprisingly, I've got mixed feelings about how this came out.
While there were no major issues with the build itself, the standard
HGUC Psychoframe doesn't look nearly as good as the GFT's.
It's just a minor gripe though, and I'm pretty happy with it overall.

Apparently, this is my fourth Unicorn.
I have to say though, I haven't gotten tired of building it quite yet.
